Fight the Flu!

ask your healthcare provider about the flu shot

The best way to protect yourself from the seasonal flu and potential complications is to get the flu shot every year. The flu shot can prevent you from getting sick in the first place, but it can also reduce the severity of illness in people who do still get sick.

If you have questions about the flu shot or other vaccinations, talk to your healthcare provider!

Healthy Habits Protect Against Flu

In addition to getting vaccinated, these easy actions can help protect yourself and others from the flu and stop the spread of germs.

  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. Flu viruses spread through droplets made when people cough, sneeze, or talk.
  • Clean your hands. Washing your hands with soap and water, especially after touching common objects and surfaces.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs spread when a person touches something that has germs on it and then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Stay home when sick. If you can, limit contact with others if you are feeling sick. Stay home for at least 24 hours until your symptoms are getting better AND you have not had a fever.
