Tanning Program
Yearly inspections of tanning facilities are made to assure all tanning equipment is in compliance with Iowa and federal law, conditions are sanitary, records are properly kept and staff are knowledgeable about proper use of equipment.
Tanning operators are required to take a Tanning Operator Exam. The exam is administered at the Scott County Health Department. Individuals wanting to take the exam must make an appointment $25.00.
Operators must obtain a permit for their tanning from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.
