A Retail Food Establishment (FE) license is a food establishment that sells food or food products to consumers intended for preparation or consumption off the premises.
What types of services are offered through the Retail Food Establishment Licensing and Enforcement Program?
Scott County Health Department issues licenses for:
- grocery stores
- convenience stores
The inspectors also:
- conduct routine, unannounced inspections
- conduct inspections when a new establishment is opened
- conduct inspections when establishments change owners
- conduct inspections when there are complaints
- approve plans for remodeling and new facilities
- provide trainings for food service personnel
Is there a fee for the service/program?
License fees are based on gross food and beverage sales. There is no fee for plan reviews.
