Public Meeting for Hazard Mitigation Plan
A meeting of the Scott County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Advisory Committee will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at the Scott Emergency Communications Center, 1100 E 46th Street, Davenport Iowa to accept comments prior to submitting the Plan to FEMA. In addition to the participating municipalities and county staff, the planning process requires a broad range of input and expertise from individuals and organizations with interest in hazard mitigation within Scott County. The plan materials and information can be found at: https://www.scottcountyiowa.gov/planning/hazard-mitigation-plan. The public is invited to attend.
Previous Post:
The Scott County Multi-jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan update is underway. Part of that process is gathering public input on the document and the information it contains.
Portions of the plan are now available for review at: https://www.scottcountyiowa.gov/planning/hazard-mitigation-plan.
Look for the heading: “plan update – draft documents”. We will continue to post documents and sections of the plan at this location through the month of October.
The draft materials will remain on the website (with potential updates and additional materials added) through October. Near the end of September, a final draft of the entire document will be made available on this webpage for public review and final comments prior to consideration for adoption by Scott County municipalities and the Scott County Board of Supervisors. As local jurisdictions are scheduling and considering adoption by their councils and boards, the plan will also be submitted to the State of Iowa and the Federal Emergency Management Agency for review and approval.
We expect that process to be completed in late 2017 or early 2018.
Input on the draft materials may be submitted directly to Brandon Melton at ([email protected]) or to Bi-State Regional Commission, c/o Brandon Melton, 1504 Third Avenue, P.O. Box 3368, Rock Island, IL 61201-3368.
