Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS)
External Link
Scott County Volunteers in Police Services Program (VIPS)
VIPS Members serve the Scott County Sheriff's Office and community by:
Providing traffic control assistance during traffic accidents, special events, parades, etc.
Assist stranded motorists on public streets and highways.
Remove debris from streets and highways
Other low priority job tasks as assigned by the shift supervisor
The minimum standards for becoming a VIPS member are:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Ability to exemplify, by his or her actions, the County's PRIDE philosophy
Must possess a valid Driver's license.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, stand for an extended period of time, and operate a county owned vehicle safely.
Must be able to pass a thorough background check and be of good moral character.
