On Friday, January 22, 2016, the Sheriff's Office will be presenting a Life Saving Award at 9:00 a.m. in the Sheriff's Office Administrative Conference Room in the Scott County Courthouse.
Scott County Sheriff's Deputy Jamey Fah, Blue Grass Fire Chief Brian Seamer, Blue Grass Firefighter Josh Conder, Blue Grass Firefighter Eric Morrison and Blue Grass Firefighter Sean Frantz will be recipients of the Life Saving Award.
On November 1, 2015, the above individuals responded to a call for service in regards to a female experiencing arm pain at Lakeside Mobile Home Park. Deputy Jamey Fah arrived on scene and was talking with the patient who was conscious and alert. While talking to the patient, he had her sit down and began getting some medical history. While seated, the patient advised her pain was subsiding. She started to feel faint, and then went unconscious. Deputy Fah, without hesitation, moved the patient to the floor and began to assess her vital signs. He applied his Automated External Defibrillator (AED) as MEDIC arrived and delivered a shock. Deputy Fah began CPR while paramedics switched out to their AED and began working on lines; and Blue Grass Fire Department personnel Fire Chief Brian Seamer, Fire Fighters Josh Conder, Eric Morrison, and Sean Frantz provided respiratory support during CPR. More shocks were administered on scene before getting the patient’s heart to beat on its own. The actions of all involved reflect great teamwork, credit upon themselves, their community, and their agencies.
