Scott County celebrates the opening of the new Youth Justice & Rehabilitation Center with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
The Scott County Board of Supervisors invites the community to join in celebrating the completion of the newly constructed Youth Justice and Rehabilitation Center. This ribbon-cutting ceremony offers a chance to tour the facility and learn more about Scott County’s commitment to providing care for youth in a secure and rehabilitative environment.
The building is designed with care principles that acknowledge the impact of trauma and aim to create a calming and safe environment for youth. It features flexible furniture, soft colors, and plenty of natural light from windows and skylights to reduce stress and promote wellbeing. This facility provides secure space as well as space for non-secure community-based programs which help youth take responsibility, grow, and find positive paths forward. The facility is built to meet the needs of young people in the justice system and shows Scott County’s commitment to supporting the community.
County leaders and representatives will speak about the center’s mission, followed by ribbon-cutting and guided tours. This is a unique opportunity for the community to see first-hand Scott County’s commitment to advance youth justice.
