Media Alert - Major Flooding is Likely to Occur

The Mississippi River levels will continue to rise in the coming weeks.  Timing, river levels, and the possible impacts on Scott County still are not clear at this time.  It is possible to see the Mississippi reach the Major Flood stage at some locations.  Based on current information, river crest levels could be reached around July 4, 2024.  Timing is contingent upon upcoming weather and rain.

Scott County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) encourages all residents not to delay flood preparations and to stay aware of changing river levels.

For residents living outside of city limits, in the unincorporated areas of Scott County, sand and sandbags are available at the Pleasant Valley Fire Station.

Scott County EMA will be monitoring the available supply at the Pleasant Valley Fire Station; however, if supplies are low or gone, please get in touch with our office by calling (563) 484-3050.
